Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrist is a branch of medicine that aims to accentuate and rehabilitate functional ability and quality of life to those with physical disablement or disorder. A physician having completed training in this field called as physiatrist. Physiatrists specialize in restoring optimal function to people with illness to the muscles, bones, ligaments, or nervous system.
